October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

Oct 04, 2021

Every October for the past 18 years, cybersecurity experts join the National Cyber Security Alliance, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in promoting and raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in every organization all over the world.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it pushed industries to adopt remote working, the year 2020 held record high reports for data breaches and cyberattacks that resulted in data loss on a massive scale.

Cyberthreats are continuously evolving and becoming more sophisticated, so it’s more important than ever to be vigilant.

With the overarching theme of
“Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” this year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month empowers individuals and organizations to embrace their role in making cyberspace safer through:

  • Implementing stronger security practices
  • Raising community awareness
  • Educating vulnerable audiences
  • Training employees

By promoting personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps, we can help each other make our interconnected world safer and more resilient.

We’ll help you do your part

As your trusted IT services provider, we at ER Tech Pros are committed to using our knowledge and expertise in playing our part in cybersecurity and helping you with yours.

One of the ways we do this is by providing you with weekly educational emails on how you can protect yourself and your practice from cybercriminals.

You can forward these emails to your employees to help them:

  • Be aware of the various types of cyberthreats
  • Know how to deal with potential bad actors
  • Reduce human error and security risks
  • Improve the security of hybrid/remote work environments
