Meet Inland Allergy

Headquartered in Upland, California, Inland Allergy is a medical practice that focuses on serving, treating, and educating individuals with allergy concerns.

They specialize in the testing for and treatment of seasonal and year-round allergic symptoms, nonallergic nasal symptoms, vocal cord dysfunction, food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, recurrent infections, immunodeficiency, medication allergies, asthma, angioedema, eczema, and hives.

With practice operations running since 2001, Inland Allergy is family-run and operates in two locations—Upland, CA and Riverside, CA. Dr. Amit Patel and his wife Sue Patel lead a workforce of almost 20 staff members, including three medical providers.

Their main objective is simple: It’s to serve patients and provide them the very best care possible.

The Challenge

Inland Allergy’s main goal may sound like a simple one, but getting it done has been a complicated process.

With the hectic schedules they need to work with, the level of care that their patients require, and the compliances they need to meet, Inland Allergy needed technology to make it happen.

The practice needed a robust EHR software, a secure environment that can host it, and an IT support team that’s available anytime help is needed.

According to Sue, the practice had previously worked with nearby IT service providers. While these small IT companies did make sure that operations were running, their services didn’t quite cover all the bases—not a lot of things were set up, peripherals were outdated, and immediate IT support was limited.

Inland Allergy knew it needed more than just an IT provider...it needed a tech partner that specializes in meeting the IT needs of healthcare practices.

The practice needed an IT partner that:

  • Understands how medical practices and their technologies work
  • Ensures a HIPAA-compliant and SOC-certified cloud environment
  • Takes compliance very seriously
  • Provides 24/7 IT support
  • Takes a proactive (not reactive) approach to providing IT support

The All-in-One Solution

When Inland Allergy decided to replace their web-based EHR software with IMS (a Windows-installed application by Meditab), Practice Manager Sue Patel learned about its sister company ER Tech Pros

She found out that ER Tech Pros is a fully managed service provider that offers IT, cloud hosting, and compliance services specifically for healthcare practices.

IT Services and Support

Sue learned that ER Tech Pros has the technology, experience, and manpower to meet practically all of Inland Allergy’s IT needs.

Sue signed up with ER Tech Pros and, for a much lower monthly rate, received more than three times the IT support than they previously had.

For just 67% of Inland Allergy’s previous IT budget, ER Tech Pros provided the following services in both locations:

  • Free device setup and installation
  • 24/7 remote desktop support
  • Onsite support
  • Antivirus management
  • Firewall management
  • Peripheral management
  • Designated Account Manager

Cloud Hosting Services and Support

Besides having ER Tech Pros as their managed IT service provider, Inland Allergy also signed up for cloud hosting services and support. Sue explains that she didn’t want the practice to use local servers because she didn’t like the upkeep that they required.

ER Tech Pros' cloud hosting service gave Inland Allergy a HIPAA- and SOC-compliant cloud environment for their EHR software.

The service also included 24/7 server monitoring by an experienced team of cloud engineers, saving Inland Allergy valuable time, office space, and money.

Clear and Tangible Results

When asked about the deciding factor for switching to ER Tech Pros, Sue explained that it was because of the quantity and quality of IT service that they were getting.

More Value for Money

With ER Tech Pros fully managing, maintaining, and monitoring its IT network since July 2020, Inland Allergy was able to get a wider IT service coverage for a much lower monthly rate.

In both of its locations, Inland Allergy received more than three times the number of IT services than it previously had.

Healthcare IT Experts Available 24/7

What made the decision to switch to ER Tech Pros an easier one for Sue was the fact that it specializes in healthcare IT. ER Tech Pros is part of The Meditab Group, which has been in the healthcare industry for over two decades.

“I really like that it’s under one umbrella company (Meditab),” said Sue. “ER Tech Pros knows what we need and what needs to be done. Any problem I have, I just hand it over to them and they figure it out!”

Another critical factor in Sue’s decision to partner with ER Tech Pros is the assurance of having healthcare IT experts available round the clock to provide the support her practice needs.

Because of ER Tech Pros' 24/7 remote desktop support, Inland Allergy doesn’t have to worry about business hours, technician availability, weekends, or holidays.

“With ER Tech Pros, everything is kinda included and that just makes it easier, you know? I don’t have to wait until IT guys come,” shared Sue.

Anytime Inland Allergy faces an IT issue, all their staff members need to do is call 855-ER-TECH-1, and they’re on the phone with a cloud or IT engineer for immediate assistance.
